Day-by-Day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival in Kigali - City Tour & Fazenda Adventure Experience

   After breakfast, begin your Kigali city exploration and discover Rwanda's fascinating history from the pre-colonial period, colonial era, post-independence period, and the country's journey of recovery after the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, the final resting place for more than 250,000 victims. The memorial provides an important educational experience about Rwanda's history, remembrance, and reconciliation. After lunch, continue to Fazenda Sengha located on Mount Kigali. This outdoor recreation center offers exciting activities including horseback riding, zip-lining, and quad biking experiences. Return to your hotel for relaxation and overnight stay. 2. Day 2: Kigali - Akagera National Park Safari & Lake Ihema Boat Cruise

   After breakfast, depart Kigali for Akagera National Park, located approximately 2.5 hours away. Akagera is Rwanda's largest national park and one of East Africa's most scenic savannah destinations. The park is home to diverse Wildlife including elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, rhinos, hippos, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and hundreds of bird species. Upon arrival, begin your afternoon game drive searching for wildlife while enjoying Akagera's beautiful landscapes of savannah plains, lakes, and wetlands. Later, enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Ihema where you may see hippos, Nile crocodiles, and numerous water birds. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight. 3. Day 3: Full-Day Akagera Safari - Return to Kigali

   Enjoy an early morning game drive through Akagera National Park. Search for the Big Five and other wildlife species while exploring the park's diverse habitats. The park is known for its excellent birding opportunities, including rare species such as the shoebill and Papyrus gonolek. After the safari experience, exit the park and transfer back to Kigali. 4. Day 4: Kigali - Kibuye (Lake Kivu) Boat Cruise & Island Exploration

Lake Kivu is famous for its peaceful atmosphere, scenic islands, clean waters, and spectacular mountain views. Enjoy the beautiful countryside drive through Rwanda's famous rolling hills. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat excursion on Lake Kivu visiting Napoleon Island, famous for its fruit bat colony, and other islands including Amahoro Island, Peace Island, and Monkey Island.    After breakfast, continue to Rubavu (formerly Gisenyi), a beautiful lakeside town on Lake Kivu known for sandy beaches, warm waters, and a relaxed tropical atmosphere. Enjoy a boat tour on Lake Kivu, offering beautiful views of the surrounding hills and opportunities to visit nearby islands. After lunch, visit Nyamyumba Hot Springs (Amashyuza), a natural attraction known for its warm mineral-rich waters and peaceful surroundings. Enjoy time relaxing before returning to Kigali.
